91% of users can walk 5 minutes or less from their office to lunch!
The relationship between users' acceptable walking distance from the office and restaurants open for lunch was as shown above.
The most popular votes were 32% for users who prefer a 5-minute walk or less and 37% for users who prefer a 10-minute walk or less.
Therefore, looking at the cumulative graph, opening a restaurant within a 5-minute walk from an office would target 91% of users, while opening a restaurant within a 10-minute walk would target 46% of users!
When opening a restaurant in an office district, the data shows that opening a restaurant with a tenant within a 5-minute walk from the office will increase the number of target customers who will come for lunch.
■The most frequent frequency of returning for lunch is within 2 weeks (63%)!
63% of users revisit the same restaurant for lunch within 2 weeks, 16% within 1 month, and 7% within 2 months.
Many seem to visit the same restaurant within 2 weeks.
It is important to create restaurants with taste and space that make the same customers want to revisit within 2 weeks.
■How much money do you spend for lunch?
Next, we asked the respondents about the amount of money they spend for lunch.
The most voted price range was 700 yen.
The most common price ranges were restaurants within 1,000 yen, convenience stores and company cafeterias within 700 yen, and self-catering and homemade bento boxes within 300 yen.
Lunch time was 12:00 p.m. at 64%.
Finally, we asked about the time of day for lunch.
As expected, 12:00 was the most popular time for lunch at 64%, followed by 13:00 at 22%.
Also, 8% of the respondents were open for lunch at 14:00, and 4% were open at 11:00.
We would like to open for lunch at least at 12:00 and 13:00, but also at 11:00 and 14:00 whenever possible.
