Instagram Submission 19th Annual Hot Hair Design Photo Contest (AIVIL Insta Photo Contest) began accepting participants on Wednesday, May 1!

Torico Industries, Inc. (Head office: Naniwa-ku, Osaka; President: Yuji Murashima) will begin accepting entries on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 for the 19th Hot Hair Design Photo Contest (nicknamed "AIVIL Insta Photo Contest), Japan's largest photo contest for hair ironing creativity, is now open for entries. The use of irons in hair arrangements has become more diverse, and the means of expression has expanded from digital cameras to smartphones for taking photos and videos. The theme for this year's contest is "Light. We are looking forward to seeing works full of originality that sharpen the sensibility generated by hair irons, such as sparkling light, shadows created by light, shiny hair, and light of hope. Seven judges will be appointed from various fields, including prominent hair artists representing the hair mode world, media, and international branding.

The technical submission period is until July 31, 2024. The announcement will be made on October 1 of the same year.

*Hair arrangements using natural hair taken after August 2023 are eligible.

■Entry Rules

［1］Hair style appropriate for the theme of "Light

［2］Title required.

［3］Curly or wavy hair design using a hair iron.

　　 (Any manufacturer of hair iron is acceptable.)

　　 Wigs are not acceptable. Wigs are not accepted, but some hair extensions may be used.

［4］Insta photo posted with a bust-up view.

　　 (*In case of long hair, upper body is also acceptable so that the length can be seen)

　　 Makeup, hair ornaments, and accessories are optional.

［5］Monochrome background.

［6］Multiple submissions are allowed.

［7］Must be unpublished work taken after August 2023.

■How to enter

(1) Follow AIVIL's Instagram account @aivil___.

(2) Take a photo of a hair arrangement using your natural hair with a hair iron.

(3) Post on Instagram with the following two hashtags.

Prizes

One Grand Prix winner (prize money of 100,000 yen and a commemorative gift)

The winner of the Grand Prix will make his/her debut in the hair mode with an original hair design that has been completely photographed!

A panel photo will be created and announced on a poster for the following year.

Each prize-winning work will be introduced in Hair Mode magazine, on the organizer's official website, and on SNS.

Each jury award: 5 winners (prize money of 10,000 yen and a commemorative gift)

Born in Atsugi City, Kanagawa Prefecture in 1958.

Graduated from Shiseido College of Beauty Technology.

Joined Shiseido in 1979. She has worked as a representative hair and makeup artist for Shiseido in advertising, TV commercials and shows, and became independent as a beauty director in 2014. Organizer of Ueda Juku. His creations such as Bonsai hair have become a hot topic. With her unique sensibility, she has been presenting her numerous creations in opera, dance, industry magazines, and photo exhibitions. He is also involved in the training of future generations of hair and makeup artists and has served as a judge for numerous contests while producing some of Japan's leading hair and makeup artists. His publications include "Mastering Ironing Techniques.

＜ ATSUSHI KOMATSU(HEAVENS)＞

◆Profile

Born in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture in 1959. Established HEAVENS in 1993. Established HEAVENS in 1993 and operates 4 stores and 3 brands in Omotesando and Yoyogi-Hachiman. He has received attention for his unique technical theory of "two-section cut" and hair design, and has won various JHA awards. He has served as a judge for hair contests in Japan and abroad. Recently, he has been developing IMAGE CHANGE PROJECT., a workwear brand for hair stylists. Author of "RESET.REPLAY.RESTART." published by Josei Mode-sha.

He is also known as a Leica enthusiast.

＜YOSHITAKA EZAKI (grico)＞

◆Profile

Born in Nagasaki City in 1985. Graduated from Omura College of Beauty and Fashion, and opened "grico" in Harajuku in 2009. He has been in charge of cover, front cover, and serial projects for numerous trade and fashion magazines. She has also been active in hair and makeup for celebrities, models, and collections, lecturing at seminars in Japan and abroad, and developing styling with manufacturers. In order to create a new way of being a hair stylist, he has been involved in the apparel industry and event planning, and has attracted attention from many media outside the beauty industry. He is the author of "Conditions for Being Chosen" and other books.

＜NORIYOSHI MIYACHI (SHACHU)＞

◆Profile

Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1984. Graduated from Yamano College of Aesthetics. After graduating from Yamano College of Aesthetics, he left a famous salon in Tokyo to set up his own private salon "SHACHU" with only 3 seats. He has been featured in various media such as TV and magazines for his strong total fashion proposals that include not only hair styling but also costume styling. He has been involved in seminars, hair and makeup, hair shows, and hair contests as a judge, both in Japan and abroad, and in the spring of 2021, he will launch a nationwide salon specializing in color based on SHACHU's color technology.

＜Shinji Shimekake Shinji (OCEAN TOKYO)＞

◆Profile

Born in Ibaraki Prefecture. He was a founding member of OCEAN TOKYO Open in 2013, and became the representative of WHITE in 2017. He has been featured in various media for his barbering and beauty techniques.

He has won the Grand Prix in the beauty industry magazine 2022 and has appeared in many hair shows in Japan and abroad. He has served as a judge for numerous contests for hairdressers from around the world to Japan. A hair artist who continues to expand his world view by weaving design and sensitivity.

What is the Hot Hair Design (AIVIL) Photo Contest?
