Days of Delight

Days of Delight (Founder & Producer: Akiomi Hirano), a new platform for jazz in Japan, will release on May 30, 2024 a new album "Moon and Venus" by Hatsune Hirakura, a young and talented pianist who has attracted a great deal of attention in the Japanese jazz scene.

This is an ambitious piano trio work filled with the outstanding sense of swing and drive that is the true essence of Hatsune Hirakura, and features all original compositions by top players Takashi Sugawa (b) and Rei Yamada (ds). Although she is only 25 years old, her sincere and passionate attitude of facing authentic jazz head-on will surely attract many jazz fans.

Hatsune Hirakura

Hatsune Hirakura started playing the piano at the age of 4, and has performed in many events with a band since elementary school. In the summer of 2016, he participated in the Berklee jazz workshop and received a full tuition waiver. He received the same scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music, where he performed at the Bern International Jazz Festival with Ralph Peterson in April 2019 and with saxophonist Melissa Aldana in Boston, Connecticut, Philadelphia, and New York City in May 2019. He studied with Joanne Brackeen, Billy Kilson, and Ralph Peterson at the University of Connecticut, and will return to Japan in 2020 and relocate to Tokyo, where he will release his debut album "Tears" in 2022 and "Wheel of Time" on Days of Delight in 2023. In 2023, he will release "Wheel of Time" from Days of Delight. He is attracting a great deal of attention as a young and talented pianist.
