What is "Children's Book Forest Nakanoshima"?

Reason for the donation

Architect Tadao Ando designed the building with the hope that "children will be able to pick up a variety of books and nurture their unlimited imagination and curiosity. He designed the facility himself and bore the construction costs to realize the "Children's Book Forest Nakanoshima." We were very impressed by his positive attitude toward life after suffering from a serious illness, and his determination to realize what he believed to be necessary.

We are also strongly aware of the tremendous value of providing children today with the opportunity to "pick up a variety of books," and we would like to support such efforts to nurture the potential of children in the "future," which is why we have made this donation.

Background of the donation to Nagaokakyo City

In response to a message from the mayor of Nagaokakyo City, where the foundation is located, regarding the city's support for the Noto Peninsula, the chairman of the foundation spoke directly with the mayor and made a donation to the Noto Peninsula Earthquake Relief Project being conducted by the city's Disaster Prevention and Safety Promotion Office.

Nagaokakyo City has been providing water, food, blue sheets, and other supplies, dispatching personnel*, and dispatching water trucks to the Noto Peninsula earthquake-stricken areas, and the Foundation and the city have jointly supported these efforts.

The Nagaokakyo Fire Station in Nagaokakyo City belongs to the Otokuni Firefighting Association, which has dispatched many members to the disaster area since January 1 as Kyoto Prefecture's emergency firefighting assistance team.

Activities of the Foundation

The Foundation was established with the aim of returning profits earned by companies to society. The Foundation currently owns 100% of the shares of G-Place, Inc. and donates the remaining amount, excluding the minimum administrative expenses required to maintain the corporation, to support organizations that "create a better society and a better future" and "help those in need today.
