Tokyo Writers' University Celebrates its 10th Anniversary ~Supporting the Creative Journey and Hoping for Further Growth
東京作家大学
Tokyo Writers' University (President: Hiroyuki Uchimura, Location: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), a writers' training school, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Tokyo Writers University was established in the spring of 2015 by the Japan Broadcast Writers Association in the name of the late Moriichi Ichikawa and the late Yoshikazu Fujimoto, both of whom have been involved in a wide range of activities as the face of the association, to foster creativity and talent and to discover new talent for the future.
Since its opening, the school has offered approximately 100 courses to a total of over 3,000 students, and has nurtured talent in all genres, including novels, screenwriting, film, and drama, through a variety of lectures and events with instructors who are active in various fields. Many of our students have gone on to win awards in public contests and make their writer's debut in various fields. We will continue our efforts to stimulate creativity and discover new talent.
In addition to recruiting new students for the Comprehensive Course in preparation for the opening of the school in May, we are also planning to offer a "Home Radio Opening Course (tentative name)," in which students can broadcast their own programs on the Internet radio from their homes, a "Rakugo Writer Training Course (tentative name)," in which students learn the basics of rakugo and how to create a rakugo script, and a "Bar Attraction and Niche Information The "Bar Meister Training Course (tentative name)," which aims to train creators who can communicate the charms of bars and niche information, and other unique courses that meet the needs of the times are also planned.
Please look forward to the next 10 years of Tokyo Writers' University.
