Lattice Technology Corporation, Association for the Advancement of Computer Education, Inc. (headquartered in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; Hiroshi Toritani, President; hereinafter "Lattice") and the Association for the Advancement of Computer Science Education (located in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Toshio Otaka, President*; hereinafter "ACSP") announced today that in addition to the deployment of solution shapes using XVL Player for the Level 1 and Level 1 3D CAD User Engineer Examination sponsored by ACSP (hereinafter referred to as "ACSP") is pleased to announce that the distribution of answer sheets by XVL Web3D, which enables 3D collaboration in multi-device environments such as tablets and smartphones, has been adopted in addition to the deployment of answer sheets by XVL Player for the Level 1 and Level 1 3D CAD User Engineer Examinations sponsored by ACSP.
The answer geometry by XVL Web3D will be available from Monday, August 28, 2023 (https://www.acsp.jp/cad/3d_past_web3d.html) when the results of the first semester examinations for the 2023 academic year are announced.
(*)The character for "high" is officially written as "ladder height.
Solution Shape by XVL Web3D
Background of XVL Web3D Adoption
Lattice has been providing XVL(*1) technology to the 3D CAD User Engineer Examination (Examination Information: https://www.acsp.jp/cad/3d.html ) since 2008, and has been supporting the development of solution shapes using the XVL Player. However, in response to the recent increase in access to the exam site from smartphones, ACSP has introduced XVL Web3D (product information: https://www.lattice.co.jp/products /lineup/web3d-manager/ ), which allows users to view XVL data in a browser without the need for a dedicated application. In addition to the conventional method of carefully checking shapes using a PC and XVL Player, the adoption of XVL Web3D will enable easy shape checking on a tablet or smartphone browser.
The first release of XVL Web3D will be for the first semester of the 2023 exam, and past releases are scheduled to be made available on XVL Web3D as needed.
About XVL
XVL, a lightweight 3D format developed by Lattice, is widely used in the manufacturing industry in Japan and overseas as a solution platform for utilizing accumulated 3D data. The key to this is the use of "anytime, anyplace, anytime" data. The key to this is XVL Web3D, which realizes the Casual3D(*2) concept of "3D anytime, anyone, anywhere. The system enables users to intuitively make decisions and perform tasks in 3D at the service site, leading to more efficient service operations and shorter response times, thereby contributing to higher customer satisfaction.
About ACSP
ACSP is a non-profit corporation established by the Computer Software Association of Japan (currently the Software Association of Japan) for business activities specializing in certification examinations. The ACSP is a non-profit organization established by the Computer Software Association of Japan (now the Software Association of Japan) to specialize in certification examinations.
Through the 3D CAD User Engineer Examination, ACSP will foster leaders of manufacturing in the coming era and promote the use of 3D CAD to realize high value-added product design and manufacturing, thereby helping to strengthen the competitiveness of industries and regions. Lattice supports the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry by creating a flow of data using XVL (= XVL pipeline (*3)), sharing and utilizing 3D data across organizational boundaries from department to department and across the company, and also supports the flow of information using 3D data from company to company, customer to manufacturer, and society at large. We support the digital transformation of society by creating a flow of information using 3D data from company to company and from company to customer and manufacturer to society as a whole.
