EMOTIONAL SHIMOGO Spring/Summer Compilation," a tourism PR video produced by the town of Shimogo, Minamiaizu-gun, Fukushima Prefecture, has won the Excellence Award in the video category at the Japan Local Information Contents Awards 2023, organized by the Japan Association for the Promotion of Local Information.

The award-winning Shimogo Town tourism PR video introduces recommended sightseeing and filming spots that can be enjoyed from spring to summer season in 4K video. The video includes a collaboration between the thatched-roof station building and cherry blossoms at "Yunoue Onsen Station," the towering "To no Hetsuri" (Tower of Hesuri), and "Kannonuma Forest Park," an approximately 8-hectare site with floating islands and lakes with aquatic plants and beautiful seasonal scenes, all of which evoke beautiful flowers and nature in spring and summer and the nostalgia of the people living there. Shimogo Town is located in the Aizu region in the western part of Fukushima Prefecture. Adjacent to Nikko National Park, the town has abundant nature.

In spring, flowers such as precious alpine plants are in full bloom, and the scenery created by Shimogo Town's climate and flowers is a highlight of the town. In Shimogo Town, there are still landscapes where one can experience the nostalgia and emotion of the Japanese people.

We aimed to create a video that would evoke a "trip to Shimogo Town," inviting people to forget their daily lives and take a trip to heal their souls, or to take a photo to capture a moving image. We believe that the promotion of general tourism and filming tourism will lead to an increase in the number of people interacting with Shimogo Town and promote its economy.
