ROSHA-KIMONO was born out of a concern among Japanese business owners that they were at a loss to choose a gift for a foreign female business owner or other person in a certain position.

Therefore, we developed a silk stole inspired by a new kind of gift that combines the weaving techniques and design of Japanese kimono.

Along with Tango in Kyoto and Nagahama in Shiga, Gosen-shi, Niigata Prefecture is one of the three major white fabric production centers in Japan. It is known as a knitting town in Niigata Prefecture, but it is also a production center of silk fabrics that support traditional Japanese costumes in the shadows. YOKOSHO Co., Ltd. is a factory that has been weaving only white silk for over 100 years before dyeing kimonos. We, who inherit the pure water, traditional techniques, and weaving spirit nurtured by the local climate, have developed "ROSHA-KIMONO" so that the elegance and beauty of the kimono can be easily incorporated into daily life. The fabric and dyeing of these scarves are derived from the kimono, and they are made of 100% silk. The concept is to "lock in the beauty, dignity, and culture of the kimono in a single scarf" as a "kimono you can carry around with you. Behind the development of such a product was the recent trend away from kimonos, which has been unstoppable in recent years. We therefore reviewed the basic materials and focused on "ro" and "sha," special fabrics used for summer kimonos. After four years of trial and error, we created a new material with unique permeability that is less than a quarter the weight of a kimono.
