(Head Office: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Shinya Miike; hereinafter "NCI"), a medical device venture support company, announces that TCN Prime Corporation (hereinafter "TCNP"), a catheter development venture company in which NCI has invested, has been approved by Kobe University as a university-originated venture company. TCNP is a medical device development venture company, a start-up company established with Dr. Akihide Konishi, a specially appointed associate professor at the Center for Clinical Research Promotion, Kobe University Hospital, and Dr. Masamichi Iwasaki, a cardiologist. There are two types of catheters that both doctors have been working on: one is a balloon catheter system for BAV (balloon aortic valvuloplasty) and the other is a progressive ECMO catheter used for ECMO (extracorporeal circulation with artificial lung and pump). We have established a research laboratory in Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture, where we are currently conducting research and development.

About the university-launched venture certification

We are pleased to announce that TCNP has been certified as a university-launched venture by Kobe University. The approval is subject to discussion by the Steering Committee of the Industry-Government-Academia Collaboration Division of Kobe University. This honor will be rewarded in exchange for the company's business promotion, successful product development, and early social implementation of the developed products, and we will strive to save the lives of as many patients as possible.
