The Japan Food Selection is a system that evaluates and certifies authentic foods and ingredients that are original to Japan. It is the world's first evaluation and certification system for food products and food ingredients that takes into consideration the delicate taste, preference, sensitivity, and food culture of the Japanese people. 23,000 qualified food analysts, who are consumers with professional knowledge, are involved in the evaluation process.
Food analysts are qualified individuals who have studied a wide range of food information, from what constitutes "deliciousness" to the origins of chopsticks, seasonal ingredients, table manners, etc., and have passed a rigorous certification examination.
