WACRA and Kaminoito OJO+, a world-class domestic Japanese paper yarn manufacturer Oji Fiber, have collaborated to develop a woven washi cotton version of "Clothes that Return to the Earth. This new washi cotton item has evolved to be softer, lighter and more durable.

Characteristics of "Clothes that Return to the Soil

Currently, much of the clothing waste in Japan is disposed of as waste. It is difficult to eliminate all of it right now, but this project takes advantage of the characteristics of 100% natural materials to reduce the amount of microplastic waste when washing, reduce toxic gases when incinerating, and biodegrade and return to the soil even after burial. We believe that it is not a dream to change the world in a cool Japanese way, and we are actively distributing what we can do now both domestically and internationally.

What is WACRA?

WACRA is a coined word combining WA (wa), meaning Japan, and CRAFT, meaning craftsmanship.

We are developing "clothes that return to the earth" that inherit and evolve from the good old Japanese clothing culture, using 100% natural fibers in fabrics, weaves, and laundry names. Our ultimate goal is to establish zero waste fashion.

Circulation Tag Initiative

Buying WACRA clothes is connected to the act of taking care of the earth.

Scrap materials and products with WACRA circulation tags that are no longer used are collected, upcycled and downcycled together with the Natural Fiber Recycling International Association (NICO), and finally returned to the soil.

What is new Washi cotton?

Washi Cotton" combines the good parts of "Washi" and "Cotton".

Washi" has the features of [antibacterial], [deodorant], [water-absorbing and quick-drying] and so on, so it is light, clean, odor-absorbing and strong. In addition, it is said to be UV-cut and gentle to the skin.

Cotton is good for smoothness, water absorbency, and moisture retention. UV cut and the effect on the skin are characteristics of general Japanese paper, and have not been tested on this product.

Shin Washi Cotton is a light and soft hybrid woven fabric that can only be made in Japan, blending Japanese paper and cotton with exquisite craftsmanship and combining the best parts of both.
