Oshin Dream Co.,Ltd. (Head office: Taito-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Hanako Sato) held an opening ceremony for its long-awaited second school, "Oshin Drone School Hamamatsu," on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the Okuyama Sports Center in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. In conjunction with the ceremony, Tanto Muraoka, 24, a director of our company, assumed the role of principal of the "Oshin Drone School Hamamatsu," taking advantage of his background as a native of Hamamatsu (Mikkabi). About 100 people attended the opening ceremony, including local residents, families with children, and students.

Oshin Dream Co., Ltd. which operates "Oshin Drone School Hamamatsu" started "Drone School Business" in June 2023. In preparation for the nationwide expansion of the drone school business in Japan, "Oshin Drone School Hamamatsu" became the second school to open following "Oshin Drone School Tokyo"!

At the opening ceremony, the Seirei Taiko Club from Seirei Christopher Junior & Senior High School and the local taiko drumming team, Wakamiya Daiko Isshin-kai, gave a demonstration to add to the festivities. Former TV Asahi announcer Yasumasa Matsui provided a humorous MC for the event, reminiscent of his days as a TV announcer. The ceremony was followed by a comedy introduction of the school by the school's instructor, a speech by the new principal, and a kusudama (a small Japanese flower-shaped vase) ceremony by the guests of honor.

After the opening ceremony, a drone racing competition was held, and everyone from adults to children, regardless of age or gender, who had never used a drone before, enjoyed piloting a drone, with announcer Yasumasa Matsui providing a realistic live commentary.

Oshin Drone School Hamamatsu will continue to contribute to the development of drone-related human resources in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, through drone education, including a school for the acquisition of national drone certification, and will make efforts toward urban development utilizing drones.

I have wanted to start my own business since I was a student, but my drone life began with only the news that the era of drones was coming, and I did not even know the "d" in drone. Today, drones are being used in many fields, and I feel that they have great potential and significance, but at the same time, we are facing the challenge of a shortage of drone personnel. Our mission is to "educate people to be active in the drone era. Drones are a means of education, and we see them as the best tool for the current era. Prior to the opening of the Hamamatsu School, I actually took a national drone certification course at the Oshin Drone School Tokyo on Izu Oshima. I believe that in the event of a disaster, drones can easily enter places that are inaccessible to people and help to save a person's life. To do this, we need people who can fly drones. I also expect that drones will lead to the revitalization of this Okuyama area, where the population is declining at an accelerating rate.

Oshin Drone School Hamamatsu is registered with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism as a drone school (registered training institute) that offers classroom and practical training to obtain the "Unmanned Aircraft Pilot Technical Skills Certification," a national qualification for drone operation. It is possible to obtain the national drone certification (Unmanned Aircraft Pilot Skills Certificate) in as little as two days and one night!
