Wire Orange Co. (Location: Tokushima City, Tokushima Prefecture; Representative: Takeshi Harada) began selling "Hokuriku Sora-soba" made with ingredients from Ishikawa and Toyama on February 10, 2024. Fifty percent of the proceeds from the sale of one bowl of "Hokuriku Sora Soba" will be donated to the Noto Peninsula 2024 Earthquake Relief Fund.

Background

In 2014, Takeshi Harada, the owner of "Awa Sora Soba," which opened in Tokushima Prefecture in April 2023, made his debut as a picture book author with "As an elementary school student, I was made to sell eggplant by my ogre-like mother. Despite his picture book author's face, Harada loves eating ramen and making ramen, and in April 2023, he will open a ramen-like "Awa Sora Soba" using local specialty "Handa Somen" in the Corona Hazards, where he could not work on his picture book. The new store will open in April 2023. The restaurant opened in April 2023, and was so popular that customers started lining up for it on the second day of its opening.

After the Noto Peninsula earthquake of 2024, we asked ourselves, "As a ramen (sorasoba) store in Shikoku, what can we do to support this project, not only by making a donation, but also by using ingredients from Hokuriku? With this in mind, we developed a bowl of "Hokuriku Sora-Soba," which is filled with specialties from Ishikawa and Toyama prefectures, and started selling it.

Hokuriku Sora-soba" is made with a sauce based on the traditional fish sauce made from squid (ishiru) and sardine (yoshiru) from the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture, and is also topped with a rice cracker made from white shrimp caught off the coast of Toyama (shiroebi kiko). The noodles are sprinkled with a generous amount of gold leaf (edible).

50% of the proceeds (705 yen per bowl) from each 1,410 yen bowl of "Hokuriku Sora-soba" (tax included) will be donated to the Noto Peninsula Earthquake Relief Fund for the 2024 earthquake.
