Silex Technology, Inc., a global leader in wireless technology (headquartered in Seika-cho, Kyoto, Japan; Nobuhiko Miura, President; hereinafter referred to as "Silex"), will start selling the RM-100RC, a multi-camera drive recorder for industrial sites, on March 25, 2024.

The introduction of automated systems in factories and warehouses can improve work efficiency and reduce human intervention. However, at such unmanned sites, malfunction or failure of robots or equipment can have a significant impact on the overall system, such as degradation of product quality or stoppage of production lines.

The RM-100RC is an industrial drive recorder that records troubles and events in automated equipment and production lines in factories and warehouses. It can record with up to four cameras at once, and allows efficient condition monitoring by setting the recording mode and storage method to suit the application and by recording before and after times centered on the trigger. The RM-100RC can also be used to check camera images and monitor the system from a wireless terminal such as a tablet PC using the RM-100RC's access point function, even if there is no network on site.

Easy to install, ready to use

The RM-100RC starts continuous recording simply by connecting and installing the main unit and a standard camera and turning on the power. It is also equipped with a PoE (Power over Ethernet) injector function, which provides power supply and communication for PoE-compatible IP cameras using only one LAN cable.

■Setting of recording mode and storage method to suit the application

The RM-100RC can be configured to record according to the application by combining the recording mode (constant/event) and camera image storage method (multi/single) settings. In multi-mode, images captured by up to four cameras can be consolidated and displayed on a single screen. Efficient condition monitoring is possible by recording and transmitting images from various angles and locations at once.

■Utilization of Recorded Data via Network Connection

By connecting to an existing network, the RM-100RC can easily share the recorded data stored in the RM-100RC main unit within the company. The system can also be used as a data storage device. This function makes it possible to correlate production- and quality-related data with recorded video for more advanced operation monitoring.

Network Connection

Wireless video distribution is possible even at sites without a network

Even if there is no network on site, the RM-100RC's access point function allows you to check camera streaming video, retrieve recorded data, and change RM-100RC settings from a wireless terminal such as a tablet PC. This enables wireless system monitoring from remote locations.

Compatible with AMC Mesh function for wide-area coverage

The RM-100RC supports AMC Mesh, Silex's proprietary tree-type connection mesh network. Up to 16 units can form a single mesh network, which can be hopped to form a wide-area wireless LAN network. Silex offers a variety of access points for business and industrial use that support AMC Mesh.
