A "Rocket Launch Support Party" will be held in Kushimoto-cho and Nachikatsuura-cho, Wakayama Prefecture, on Saturday, March 9, 2024, to support the launch of the first small rocket "Kairos.

The launch of the first small rocket "Kairos" (18 meters in length), developed by Space One Corporation, is approaching on March 9, and the towns of Kushimoto and Nachikatsuura in Wakayama Prefecture, where the first private-sector rocket launch site is located, are experiencing a great deal of excitement.

Tickets for the two official launch sites in Kushimoto-cho and Nachikatsuura-cho sold out in two days, and tours with overnight accommodations are also sold out, attracting the keen interest of space fans not only from the Kansai region but also from all over Japan.

The rocket launches have been viewed as an opportunity for regional revitalization, and Kushimoto Town and Nachikatsuura Town are holding "Rocket Launch Cheering Party" events at their official viewing sites.

USP Japan Inc. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Kenichi Niitsu) is cooperating with the event to provide visitors with a comfortable tour and to encourage everyone to cheer the moment of the powerful launch.

At both venues, visitors can observe rocket launches from as close as 2 km from the launch site. At the venue, there will be a special stage, restaurants using local ingredients, etc., as well as limited-edition goods for sale from the hit manga "Space Brothers," who are the official ambassadors to support the launch of the first rocket, and "Kotetsu-kun" from the anime "Uchu nanchara Kotetsu-kun" will visit the venue to give out free stickers! Free limited edition stickers will be distributed at the venue.

More than 20 Kushimoto Town employees will be guiding and guarding the site, dressed in space suits. The official store of "Space Brothers" will be open.

Limited-edition products such as "Space Brothers" and Kushimoto Town collaboration stamps and rocket launch commemorative tickets (with the cooperation of JR West Japan) will be on sale.

Kotetsu-kun" from "Uchu-nanchara Kotetsu-kun" will be there to cheer the launch.

(3) Support for Overseas Guests at Both Venues

Multilingual guidance using "Mieru Interpretation" (13 languages + sign language interpretation) by Terilogy Serviceware, Inc. at the two official viewing sites.
