AMC Cloud(R) Overview

Background

Wireless LAN problems are serious in industrial and medical settings. Site managers spend a lot of time trying to identify and resolve the causes of system and network problems.

AMC Cloud, in conjunction with the WM-100CL wireless environment survey device, constantly monitors the wireless environment at industrial and medical sites. When communication problems occur, it automatically provides causes and solutions to help resolve them quickly. Furthermore, by connecting additional Silex access points and wireless children to AMC Cloud, the amount of information from the wireless environment can be increased, enabling effective wireless environment monitoring.

Features of AMC Cloud

(1) Understanding and remotely managing the wireless environment

AMC Cloud can be remotely managed by collecting the following information from the wireless environment in conjunction with the survey device WM-100CL, contributing to solving wireless LAN problems for the person in charge of the site.

Wireless signal strength information (displayed as a heat map)

Information on access points in operation

Information on non-Wi-Fi noise

Information on bandwidth usage, error frame rate, and retransmitted frame rate for each channel

(2) Alerts on connection problems / Proposed solutions

AMC Cloud contributes to the resolution of wireless connection problems through the following procedures when problems occur.

Alert notifications are automatically sent via e-mail when a problem occurs, allowing managers to grasp the issue without waiting for a report from the field.

Silex's technology and know-how are used to propose easy-to-understand solutions and provide a quick first-response.

Records changes in the wireless environment and connection history. Managers can go back and analyze the past and prevent recurrence with fundamental countermeasures

(3) Management of additional Silex wireless devices enables a more robust "uninterruptible wireless space

By including Silex access points and wireless child devices as monitoring targets, AMC Cloud can collect additional information on device communications, enabling more effective wireless environment monitoring and management.

Wireless usage by access point, channel, and data volume of data transmitted and received by the access point or handset.

Transmission and reception rates of access points

Time-series information on when and which access points the child devices are roaming to.

AMC Cloud Basic Plan includes one AMC Cloud subscription and one WM-100CL survey device.

Future Prospects

Silex positions AMC Cloud as a cloud platform to realize its mid-term business mission, "Creation of an uninterruptible wireless space" in each application field. While we will start providing the service in Japan, we plan to gradually expand the service globally in the future. In addition to Silex's own products and their customers, AMC Cloud will be used to provide new connectivity services to customers who provide embedded wireless modules and OEM products.
