The Tohoku Future Art Fireworks Executive Committee will hold the third "Tohoku Future Art Fireworks 2024," a new fireworks display that creates a new "artistic culture" by synchronizing traditional Japanese fireworks and music, on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at a special site in Torinoumi Park / Watari-cho, Miyagi Prefecture.

2022, the first time the event was held, ended in tears... 2023, the third time the event was held with great excitement...

In June 2022, "Tohoku Future Art Fireworks" was held for the first time as a sustainable community development event with citizen participation, aiming at reconstruction and development of the Tohoku region, with hopes for a bright future. Watari-cho, Miyagi Prefecture, a small town with a population of about 30,000, attracted more than 12,000 spectators, supported by about 190 volunteers and 50 sponsors, but most of the fireworks were swallowed by thick clouds, leaving only frustration on the ground. However, as we looked up at the other side of the night sky, above the clouds, fireworks of many colors were twinkling.

In September 2023, "This time, we want to deliver the best fireworks ever." and held the festival for the second time. Blessed with fine weather, the fireworks display was held in the magnificent setting of Chorinoumi Park, facing the sea and shooting up to 500 meters, filling the night sky with a spectacular spectacle. The co-starring of the fireworks and the music, which ranged from up-tempo tunes to ballads, was truly "artistic fireworks" and a special fireworks experience that kept more than 13,000 people glued to the night sky. This year, we would like to share the excitement with you with even more power.

Artistic fireworks, including the Ichishakudama, created by Japan's best pyrotechnicians, are synchronized with music and shot nonstop for about 50 minutes. The entire fireworks display is synchronized with the rhythm and tune of the "music," and together with the famous music loved by men, women, and all generations, it provides a deeply moving moment. Enjoy an unforgettable fireworks experience along with the music.

The fireworks are controlled in 1/30 second increments, taking into account the dwell time and residual light, and are synchronized with the rhythm, melody, instruments, lyrics, and vocals of the music. The "Artistic Fireworks" has a story, a script, music, actors (fireworks), and a high-quality story, just like watching a movie, which moves the audience through a single work.

Food Events

The charms of Watari-cho and Miyagi Prefecture will be reconfirmed! A variety of food events will be held!

The "Harakomeshi Harakomeshi FESTIVAL" will be held at the event site. We will serve the best harakomeshi only available this time of year to a large number of visitors! Also, a large gathering of delicious food from Miyagi Prefecture! Please enjoy Miyagi Prefecture's specialties at the kitchen car and food tent! ■300 people perform as a band all together! Why don't you join the music festival at Tohoku Future Art Fireworks 2024?

The "300-person band performance" project, which was very popular last year in 2023, will be held again as a music event at the Tohoku Future Art Fireworks 2024. Join us for this special event and enjoy music together. No instrumental or singing skills are required. Everyone is welcome to participate. Let's all play the same song at the same time and send our hope for the future to the world with our music.

In addition, there will be a collaborative stage created by Watari-cho Community Development Cooperation Volunteers and Yuki Hatakeyama, the leader of the Tohoku Future Art Fireworks Supporting Team, together with local children. What wonderful singing voices will we hear this year?

The Artistic Fireworks Series is Japan's only fireworks display held in a series and tour-style in cities across the country. It specializes in bold productions that incorporate the location of the venue and regional characteristics, and pushes conventional fireworks displays to the level of art through advanced technology. It is a sustainable community-creating event that is created with the participation of many citizen volunteers and the cooperation of local residents across generations, as well as local food, sightseeing, lodging, and other activities.

March 11, 2011, the day of the Great East Japan Earthquake, is a day that cannot be forgotten.

In an instant, the everyday life that had been taken for granted was gone, and the whole of Japan was in a state of grief. With no end in sight, the whole of Japan joined hands, and with the efforts of many people, the city is gradually on the road to recovery. Thirteen years have passed since the disaster, and Tohoku continues to move forward toward a new future. The "Bird's Sea Park," which was built on the site of tsunami damage in the Arahama district of Watari-cho, Miyagi Prefecture, is a symbol of reconstruction designed on a vast expanse of land, and is evolving daily as various people add their hands to it. We have decided to launch "Tohoku Future Art Fireworks" in order to bring smiles and interaction to this place that is filled with many people's thoughts and feelings. We hope that this new step forward will paint a bright future for the Tohoku region, and together with everyone, we will create a fireworks display.
