What is free-range breeding?

At Habataki Farm, chickens are free to roam in and out of the henhouse during the day, and they grow up in a natural environment where their natural vital energy is drawn out and they are able to withstand heat and cold.

This free-range chicken rearing method allows for sustainable agriculture with minimal impact on the environment.

This is a rare method of rearing chickens in Japan, which reduces stress and promotes healthy growth.

Living environment that matches the behavior of the chickens

We provide a living environment where the chickens can live happily.

We have provided a perch tree for the hens to relax, sand baths with our original bedding, and individual egg-laying nest boxes so that the hens can lay eggs in peace. We also upcycle coffee grounds from our Cocoterrace hill to use as bedding material, and we are also environmentally conscious in our activities.

We do not want to control the chickens, but to support and help them to live happily.

About chicken feed

The main ingredients of our chicken feed, corn and soybeans, are NON-GMO (non-genetically modified organisms)*1.

In addition, we raise chickens on our original "plant protein feed" that contains "live bacteria" to regulate their intestinal environment and "mekabu" to make their eggs tasty.

In addition, in order to realize recycling-oriented agriculture that promotes local production for local consumption, we use more than 10% of rice grown in the rice paddies of Aichi Prefecture for feed.

Chickens grow up in a rich natural environment overlooking the sea of Ise Bay, drinking mineral-rich natural water. In addition, the feed the chickens eat is made from rice grown locally in Aichi Prefecture. We also use chicken manure as fertilizer in the rice paddies for the feed, and are committed to a regional recycling-oriented agriculture.

While overseas raw materials have become the mainstream for feed, we have been active in this field for more than 15 years with the desire to support local agriculture and value local production for local consumption, even if only a little.
