Serendix, a 3D printer housing company, has Introduces Three New Printers Rapidly Expanding 3D Printing to Multiple Locations, Aiming to Double Production
セレンディクス株式会社
Serendix Corporation (Headquarters: Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, CEO: Hiroyasu Koma) announces the introduction of three new 3D printers for construction use by the Company and a consortium of companies (partner companies).
The 3D printers will be owned by MHI and its partner companies, Shinshowa Corporation (headquartered in Kimitsu City, Chiba Prefecture) and Tamaki Housing Corporation (headquartered in Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture), and will be installed in Kumamoto, Chiba, and Okinawa Prefectures, respectively. We are expanding our production base as an affiliated output factory and plan to increase the number to 12 units(*) by the end of the year. *Including partner companies
Output work for the new model (robot arm type). In addition to high-speed output, it excels at detailed modeling as well as housing.
Serendix is also operating a gantry-type printer.
It is capable of outputting large models of up to 100 square meters.
Sequential introduction of 3D printers with specialized specifications under a consortium structure
Serendix has a vision of "enriching humanity with the world's most advanced homes," and is working to realize a new digital society where people can "buy a new house for the price of a new car" by drastically reducing construction costs through robotic construction. As a consortium, MHI is working with 285 partner companies (as of July, 2012) that share this vision and are pursuing business through "open innovation," sharing know-how and resources in development, production, sales, and construction with each other.
The printers to be introduced this time are of special specifications developed in collaboration with our consortium companies, and will be installed in Chiba, Kumamoto, and Okinawa prefectures, respectively. The consortium company will own and manage the printers, while MHI will provide manufacturing know-how, design data, materials, and other resources. Starting this year, we are expanding our affiliated output factories in preparation for mass production, and plan to increase the number to 12 units by the end of the year. By distributing the locations, we aim to further reduce costs by reducing transportation costs to the construction site.
■Providing Homes of Uniform Quality with Different Types of 3D Printers
The strength of 3D printers lies in the fact that they can output houses of the same shape anywhere in the world as long as design data is available. We are also conducting research on the uniformity of quality, such as by conducting the world's first demonstration test of simultaneous output in five countries using a single digital data (serendix10) in October 2022. Until now, MHI (including its partner companies) has operated two types of 3D printers, but this time it will introduce three new models from different manufacturers. By verifying the differences in performance of each printer and the cement materials used, we intend to establish a system that will enable us to supply houses of the same quality using different printers in various locations in Japan and overseas in the future.

About Serendix
We are the first 3D printer house manufacturer in Japan, and after completing Japan's first 3D printer house "serendix10" in 23 hours in March 2022, we delivered it to Saku City, Nagano Prefecture in 2023 as our first sales model. In February 2024, at the "Japan-Ukraine Economic Reconstruction Promotion Conference," we signed a memorandum of understanding with a local construction company regarding the construction of reconstruction housing in Ukraine.
