About "JNR Limited Express Train Series 381 Yakumo Final Chapter

The Series 381, which debuted in 1973 as Japan's first natural pendulum type train, was introduced to the Hakubi Line's limited express train "Yakumo" in 1982. In recent years, this was also the last regularly operated Japan National Railways limited express train, but in June 2024, it will finally make its last run.

The Blu-ray/DVD film we are producing, "J.N.R. Limited Express Train Series 381 Yakuomo Final Chapter," follows this last J.N.R. Limited Express Train along its entire route from Okayama to Izumo City. The 4K footage of the train running in the colors of the "Yakumo", "Super Yakumo", "Midori Yakumo", and "JNR colors" against the backdrop of the Chugoku Mountains and the natural beauty of the Sea of Japan coastal area.

The film also includes previously unreleased footage recorded for this film up to the last day of operation, such as a moment at the rail yard, the "welcoming ceremony" on the last day of regular operation, and the "KOUNOTORI" limited express train operated by Series 381 on the Fukuchiyama Line and Sanin Line Kyoto Exit system.

About Crowdfunding

Recently, the DVD market has been shrinking rapidly due to the rise of free videos and subscriptions on YouTube and other media. Original productions for sale are becoming more and more difficult to continue due to the tight profitability. For this reason, we have decided to ask for financial support through the crowdfunding site "CAMPFIRE" for the production of 381 series works. The target amount is 1.5 million yen, which will be used to cover the costs of finishing the film as well as to continue the production of future railway-related works.
