Challenge to eliminate the gap in arts experiences! Children Attracted by Full-Scale Stage Performances! Zombie the Develop - Magical Girl City The biennial "main performance" will be held on September 21 (Sat) at Nishiarai Cultural Hall

一般社団法人ほしかぜ

The Kids Performance Group Hoshikaze, run by the general incorporated association Hoshikaze (Head office: Adachi-ku, Tokyo; Representative: KAEDE), focuses its activities on allowing school-age children to express themselves in front of others in authentic performing arts. The performance will be held at Nishiarai Cultural Hall in Adachi-ku, Tokyo on Saturday, September 21, 2024. This year's event will be co-hosted with "Korabo City" (https://colabocity-adachi.com/), which will be held on the same day at Galax City.

The performance is a completely original work. The children will discuss and decide on a theme, which will be used as the basis for the script and direction by KAEDE, the company's representative. The fascinating characters are written by "guesswork," based on the children's everyday situations and personalities. Furthermore, it is not just a play, but also incorporates singing, dancing, action, and aerial expression, so that the children can receive direct instruction from professionals and experience firsthand how amazing the real adults on the front lines are. In addition, in order to immerse themselves in real performing arts, we assign professional staff behind the scenes, such as stage managers, lighting, and sound. The children of Hoshikaze will experience and absorb various forms of expression and continue to search for their own expression, and in the one-day "performance," they will give their best performance with the same level of concentration as adults.

■Reason for Free Theater

Recently, the disparity in experiences for children due to economic disparity has become an issue. Hoshikaze offers free admission so that children of all backgrounds can visit the theater and experience the performing arts. We hope that by seeing a live stage performance, they will experience a heart-shaking experience from something that cannot be put into words, and feel the passion for what people create.

■Crowdfunding Challenge

Our main source of income is only membership fees from children and monthly donations from a few people, and it is very difficult for us to cover the cost of such a big stage performance on our own. Therefore, in order to raise the cost of the performance, the parents of Hoshikaze are working together to apply for grants and call for sponsorships, and we are challenging crowdfunding again this time following the 3rd main performance in 2022. We hope that adults will support and cooperate with this effort to eliminate the gap in children's arts experiences, with the intention of paying for the tickets.

Activities derived from this performance

(1) "Odottemita" of the dance to the theme song "Lop" is being developed.

For each performance of Hoshikaze, we create an original theme song and ask Mr. KAKETAKU, a world-renowned influencer, to choreograph the song. This time, in order to let many people enjoy the "zombie dance" of the theme song "Drop", which fully incorporates the world view of this performance, "Uber Zombie" visits various local events, and the energy of children is infecting and expanding!

(2) MV completed! And behind-the-scenes making-of video!

About a month before the performance, the music video for the theme song "Lop" has been completed. The music video depicts children living in a world of zombies as "another story that might have happened," while maintaining the world view of the show. We hope you will enjoy it as well!

Finally, what is Korabo City?

Korabo City is a project to "create a one-day town filled with excitement" by bringing together children from various areas of Adachi Ward who are eager to express and create something, and adults who are serious about having fun together. The entire town will be there to accept the children's "I want to try this! The purpose of this project is to "create a community of the future," where the entire town will accept the children who will create the future and say, "I want to try this! Hoshikaze's performance will be the last stage of the "One-day Town" project.
