Bills Art Co. Development Background

As the number of extremely hot days increases, the problem of room temperature inside gondolas of Ferris wheels and other vehicles is becoming an increasing issue. In recent years, amusement facilities have also been burdened with the problem of electricity costs due to soaring utility bills.

In the past, these issues were addressed by applying coatings to glass surfaces or applying glass film to improve the heat shielding effect, but this resulted in "image distortion" (distortion of the scenery).

However, with the cooperation of OSAKA WHEEL, the tallest Ferris wheel in Japan located in Suita City, Osaka Prefecture, we conducted several test applications and succeeded in developing a new coating agent that eliminates distortion as much as possible.

Features of "e-coating HSG

<Heat shielding effect

In the demonstration test conducted on May 10, 2024, the temperature inside the coated and uncoated gondolas was measured every 5 to 10 minutes, and a maximum temperature difference of -3.8°C and an average of -3.4°C per hour were confirmed. Furthermore, we found that the higher the outside temperature, the greater the heat shielding effect.

Energy saving can be achieved throughout the year by the "heat shielding effect" in summer and by the "heat insulating effect" in winter, and the energy saving effect can be enhanced by applying the product to window glass not only at amusement facilities but also at ordinary residences.

In order to minimize image distortion, we conducted multiple coating tests on actual gondola equipment to achieve the best finish so that customers do not feel uncomfortable when viewing the scenery.

Conventional coating agents are difficult to apply and are generally applied by contractors, but the newly developed coating agent is relatively easy to apply and can be applied by end users.
