Labor shortages have become a chronic social problem in modern Japan, and opportunities to hire foreigners are increasing in various industries to compensate for the severe shortage of workers. However, many Japanese companies do not have a sufficient Japanese language education system for foreigners, and it is assumed that not a small number of foreign workers are not able to grow in terms of Japanese language skills. In addition, there may be no Japanese language classes in the area that foreigners can easily attend, or even if Japanese language training is provided in-house, it may be difficult to encourage all foreign employees to participate due to work hours. Some may feel that the lack of learning opportunities prevents foreign workers from learning Japanese sufficiently, which in turn prevents them from communicating effectively in Japanese, resulting in work stoppages.
Japanese language e-learning using online materials is a solution to this problem, allowing workers to choose when and where to study from their PCs or smartphones to suit their own life rhythms, making efficient Japanese language learning possible even for workers who are busy with their daily duties. This makes it possible for even workers who are busy with their daily work to learn Japanese efficiently.
The most widely used test to measure Japanese language proficiency is the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT, levels N5, N4, N3, N2, and N1 from the bottom), and the e-learning materials produced by Atein are designed for each level of the JLPT. In addition, the video lectures and accompanying PDF textbooks, which can be used for review, are available in multiple languages (English, Chinese, Vietnamese, Myanmarese, and many others), so that even foreigners who are new to Japanese can study in their native language.
In addition to these video materials, a wide variety of courses are available, including hiragana and katakana courses, mock tests for all levels, and JLPT exam preparation courses. In addition, while conversation practice used to be considered difficult in e-learning, the newly launched free version of ChatGPT, which utilizes AI conversation practice content, can also be used to improve Japanese communication skills.
We have decided to hold the "JLPT e-Learning Introduction Seminar" to explain the "Japanese Language Education e-Learning System" for providing these courses to companies, including an overview of the courses and how to manage learners' progress.
