World's Largest Dance & Performance 50,000 people attended the combined festival "SHIROFES.2024"!

SHIROFES.", one of the world's largest dance and performance complex festivals, has been held annually in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture since 2016. This year marked the ninth time the festival was held at Hirosaki Park for three days on June 28, 29, and 30, for the first time in five years, and was free of charge for spectators.

The festival attracted approximately 50,000 visitors over the three days, and the economic ripple effect was estimated at 1.6 billion yen.

The festival was held under the title "SHIROFES.2023. Wake up, individuality. Awaken individuality. Burn up Hirosaki. The festival features 11 dance contents on four stages divided into "FOREST STAGE," "CIRCUS THEATER," "COSMIC GARAGE," and "MUSIC VILLAGE," and more than 3,500 of the best guest dancers and artists from Japan and abroad. The festival was enhanced even further than last year with a newly established children's acting area, as well as a full lineup of food and beverage booths, making it a festival for people of all ages to participate. SHIROFES.2024, a festival of individuality that gave birth to a passionate and open performance environment by gorgeous artists and citizens from all over the world, was held in Hirosaki Park for the first time in five years, and came to a successful conclusion with the high level of euphoria generated by visitors maintained throughout the event.

About the venue

Hirosaki Park is located in the center of Hirosaki City and covers a total area of approximately 492,000 square meters. The venue for this year's festival is the Civic Plaza, which stretches from the Otemon Gate, the main entrance to Hirosaki Park, to the civic hall, a cultural facility for performing arts and concerts, and a widely used venue for training and conferences by the citizens themselves. The 2024 festival event will be held outdoors and indoors, with four stages, an art area, and an acting area. The festival has evolved into one of the world's largest dance and performance complex festivals, attracting many participants from Japan and abroad by creating an open environment for performance.

What is "SHIROFES.

SHIROFES." is one of the world's largest dance and performance complex festivals that has been held annually since 2016 (Heisei 28) at the Hirosaki Castle Honmaru. In November 2021, "SHIROFES." will be held as a "Sports Culture and Tourism Festival" by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, the Sports Affairs Agency, and the Japan Tourism Agency. In November 2021, the event received the grand prize of the "Sports Culture Tourism Award 2021" from the Agency for Cultural Affairs, the Sports Agency, and the Japan Tourism Agency, and in March 2022, it was selected for the "Hometown Event Grand Prize" (sponsored by the Japan Center for Regional Revitalization). In April 2023, it also received the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award, the "Handmade Hometown Award. The next festival, which will mark its 10th anniversary, is scheduled to be held at the same venue from June 27 to 29, 2025.
