Cinema Novecento, Japan's smallest film cinema operated by Cinema Novecento Corporation (located in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture), will hold two special animation events: a screening of "Kurayukaba" on September 23, 2024 (Monday, national holiday) and a screening of "Kramer Kagari" on September 28, 2024 (Saturday). The screening of "Kramer Kakaba" will be held on September 23, 2024 (Monday) and "Kramer Kagari" on September 28, 2024 (Saturday).

About "Kurayukaba" and "Kramer Kagari" Screenings Featuring Director Shigeyoshi Tsukahara

Director Shigeyoshi Tsukahara has been active as an individual filmmaker for many years.

His energetic activities include his 2012 film "Hadanokouf", which was entered in the SHORT FILM CORNER section at the 66th Cannes International Film Festival.

In 2023, "Kurayukaba," completed 10 years after its conception, was entered in the Fantasia International Film Festival, where it won the "Audience Award, Gold Prize" in the Animated Feature Film category, garnering high praise at international film festivals, and was released in Japan on the same day along with "Kramer Kagari," the latest spin-off from the same film.

The special screening of "Kurayukaba" was held on the opening day, and a special event of "Kramer Kagari" was held on the day before the opening day of the festival.

On both days, director Shigeyoshi Tsukahara will be invited as a guest to talk about the secret stories behind the production of each film, as well as to sign autographs, take photos, and hold a reception (additional fee required).

Shigeyoshi Tsukahara

Born in Tokyo in 1981. He has been fascinated by old fantasy science films since he was a child, and started to produce animation independently around 2002.

After working for a company, he became a freelance animator. In recent years, while releasing original short films, he has also been involved in world building other than animation, such as cooperating in stage design for SEKAI NO OWARI's live performances.
