Wisseed-the terra Inc. (headquartered in Meguro-ku, Tokyo; Mitsuko Yamamoto, President) launched a satellite carrying children's baby teeth and their dreams aboard a SpaceX rocket from the Kennedy Space Center on August 4, 2024 as part of the Wisseed Academy, an educational program to help children develop the "power to survive". The satellite was loaded onto a rocket and launched from the Kennedy Space Center on August 4, 2024. ■Fostering Children's Ability to Survive and Thrive

In August 2023, we opened With Seed Academy, a unique educational program to nurture "the power to survive," with the aim of providing children who will live through unpredictable times (the VUCA era) with the learning they need to survive and the wonder of curiosity and dreams to the generation that will live with space. The school was opened to provide a unique educational program to nurture the ability to survive.

What is required of children in the coming age is the ability to be curious, to develop strengths, and to adapt to change. We offer a program that is not knowledge-oriented, but rather helps children develop the seven skills (communication, thinking, creativity, producing, action, quantum mechanics, and AI) to think and act on their own.

■Launching Japanese customs into space

The "baby tooth" satellite launch project is a unique initiative based on an old Japanese custom. When a baby tooth falls out, children throw it high up on a roof to wish for its growth. By sending baby teeth into space, we aim to stimulate children's curiosity and increase their interest in space and science. The satellite is scheduled to travel in space for about three years, and we hope that it will provide children with an opportunity to develop unlimited possibilities and a spirit of challenge.

■The era of creating stories of becoming something you are not

As a female entrepreneur, I have realized a dream that was once thought to be "unattainable," the grand challenge of "launching a satellite into space. I am very grateful to my team and the many people who supported me along the way. I have had a strong interest in space since I was a child and have always dreamed of one day sending something into space with my own hands, but that dream was too far away and out of my reach. However, I wanted to convey to the children that "what seems impossible on your own is possible with the cooperation of many people. I believe that the future is not the same for everyone, but an era in which each person can create his or her own story with individuality.
