Hamaya Corporation (Location: Higashimatsuyama City, Saitama Prefecture; Representative Director: Shigeru Kobayashi / Subsidiary: Lunas Corporation), a resource recycling trading company that is developing its business under the slogan "Mottainai" (What a waste), will be featured in a TV Tokyo program "Gaia no Yoake" on September 13 (Friday) regarding urban mine recycling in Mongolia. The filming of "Gaia no Yoake (Dawn of Gaia)" will be held on Friday, September 13.
Background
In Mongolia, recycling of waste home appliances and PC boards (urban mines) has not progressed, and landfill disposal has become an environmental problem. In order to contribute to Mongolia with world-class resource recycling technology, Hamaya Corporation has established a network to efficiently recover metals and other resources from urban mines in Mongolia, and imported advanced recycled resources to Japan, which can be sorted locally only in Japan. We have started an international recycling business.
■ Contents
(1) Contributing to Mongolia with Japanese technology
We have started a project to import valuable resources (urban mines) that could not be recycled locally and had been discarded to Japan, and to conduct analysis and careful sorting, which are important in the recycling of urban mines. This project is attracting attention as a project that can contribute to Mongolia with Japanese technology while also cooperating with the Mongolian government.
(2) Cosmetics Business Started from the Spirit of "Mottainai
In Mongolia, 3.94 million horses, 51 times the number in Japan, graze naturally, and the placentas from their births are left untreated, causing soil contamination and other environmental problems. In the spirit of "mottainai" (what a waste), we have started a business that can solve environmental problems by recovering these placentas and producing a raw material called placenta, which is widely used in cosmetics and health foods.
Future Development
The company collects large quantities of urban mines from countries in Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, etc.) and consolidates them in Mongolia through logistics using railroads. We have already started to build an international recycling network of urban mines, which will import the mines to Japan after sorting and processing them at our base in Mongolia.
In the cosmetic raw materials business, semi-finished products produced in Mongolia are imported to Japan. We plan to sell the raw materials domestically and export them to the rest of the world.
