株式会社出口崇仁農園
Takahito Deguchi Farm (Representative: Takahito Deguchi/Tsuyohiro Yamashita), an organic rice farm in Mihama-cho, Aichi Prefecture, has launched a project to expand production of organically grown rice. The most popular return in terms of amount was "Koshihikari 5kg x 12 bags" of organic rice delivered every month. The project continues to address various issues in Japanese agriculture while aiming to improve children's health and Japan's food self-sufficiency rate.

■Current Status of Organic Agriculture in the World and Japan
Generally, Japanese crops are considered to be of "high quality," but as the following data shows, Japan is actually a backward country in the field of organic farming, as it uses considerably more agricultural chemicals than anywhere else in the world.
We are seriously trying to change the current state of Japanese agriculture, starting locally in Aichi Prefecture.
Europe: 40-50% organic produce
South Korea: Introducing organic food to school lunches is underway.
Seoul City will provide organic school lunch free of charge to about 1,300 schools from 2021.
Japan:
- Only 0.5% of the land is planted in organic agriculture.
- Japan: Japan ranks first or second in the world in the amount of pesticides used (China ranks first).
- More than 99% of agricultural products use pesticides
- Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has set a target to increase the area of organic farming to 25% (1 million hectares) by 2050.

Challenges Facing Japanese Agriculture
Currently, Japanese agriculture is facing the following challenges.
Lack of farmers due to the aging of farmers
Increased abandonment of cultivated land
Concerns about health hazards and environmental destruction caused by the use of pesticides and herbicides
Decline in food self-sufficiency
Our Commitment to Organic Farming
We believe that if the soil is healthy, crops will grow healthily, which will lead to the health of the people who eat them.
To cultivate healthy soil, we mix lactic acid bacteria and other microorganisms in the rice paddies to activate useful bacteria in the soil.
We also do not use pesticides or herbicides, so we are committed to sustainable farming that is friendly to both people and the natural environment, where diverse organisms such as tadpoles and killifish can live.
At Deguchi Takahito Farm, the following year-long rice cultivation process is carefully practiced:
1. soil preparation: rice straw and rice stubble after harvesting are plowed into the rice field and sprayed with microorganisms
2. seedling preparation: no pesticides are used, and hot water at 60 degrees Celsius is used for disinfection
3. plowing: healthy seedlings are planted
Weeding: Careful weeding using hand-pushed weeders or by hand
Weeding device:
In organic farming, herbicides cannot be used, so it is a battle against weeds.
After rice planting, when weeds are not yet visible in the rice paddies, hand-pushed weeders and riding weeders are run repeatedly to weed the rice so that the weeds do not overwhelm the rice plants.
Even then, weeds still grow, so we carefully weed the fields by hand.
Organic rice "only one rice in the world" production volume trends:
2023: 4 tons (crop area: 1.5 hectares)
2024: 6 tons (planted on an area of 2 hectares)
2025: 30 tons (planted on 10 hectares)
Contributing to the local community: For the future of children
Deguchi Takahito Farm donates rice and other agricultural products and vegetable seedlings to local nursery schools and children's cafeterias, with the hope that local children will be able to enjoy safe and delicious rice as in the past.
