～Stitching with Cloth

Please enjoy the world of ancient Japanese "Sashiko x Contemporary Art" with many works created by "Sashiko Culture" on display. We look forward to welcoming many visitors.

In the future, we plan to open a store in our Sapporo atelier in the spring of 2025, where we will exhibit many works and sell accessories and production kits. We hope that visitors from Japan and abroad will take a look at the traditional Japanese culture of Sashiko.

■What is Sashiko Tenkoku Stitching?

Sashiko is a traditional Japanese art of stitching. Using the original technique of "Tenkoku Stitching", which is to stitch a torn piece of cloth or a loop into a piece of cloth one stitch at a time, I express my unique view of art by fusing classic Japanese patterns such as hemp leaves and gauze patterns and my own designs with a variety of materials. Akiko Goto is the founder of the company.
