Jun Sakurai (President of Sakura Star Travel LLC), who is currently working as a career consultant to help people with incurable diseases balance work and social participation, appeared in an interview titled "Travel Support for People with Disabilities: Thoughts of a Representative with an Incurable Disease" on the ABEMA News Channel "ABEMA Hills" broadcast on October 7, 2024 (Monday). Aiming to Balance Work with Treatment for Intractable Diseases

The program introduced episodes of Sakurai Star Travel's travel support for 4,800 customers to date, as well as the background behind his decision to take a step forward in social participation by starting a business from a career perspective in response to "employment," the most important issue for people with intractable diseases.

Sakurai runs his own company while suffering from two intractable diseases, "Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy" and "Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease. As a travel operator and career consultant, he talks in the program about the support he has provided to people with special needs to realize their own personalized travel and build their careers, as well as about his approach to expanding their work options.

The interview also mentioned the social challenges of universal tourism, explaining the issues faced by people with intractable diseases and disabilities in employment and travel from the perspective of career development. In particular, he touched on the current difficulties in balancing treatment and work, economic difficulties, and how problems with the welfare system affect their careers, and based on his own experiences as a person with an intractable disease, he is putting his own practices into action to solve social issues.
