Ichikyu Co. (CEO: Toshihiro Hisaki), which operates 13 Ichikyu Daifukudo stores in Hokkaido, will celebrate its 100th anniversary in September 2024. To commemorate this anniversary, the company has developed "Sengoku Meikyoku Okini Iriki", which will be available at all Ichkyu Daifukudo stores and on the company's EC site from October 19, 2024.

Since its establishment, the company has focused on making rice cakes and has mainly sold rice cakes and daifuku, which have an expiration date of only one day and are called asama-gashi, but it is also working on developing Western-style confectionery products that will last longer. The company has also created products such as "PONUGURU SHIMAENAGA," a bun with butter bean paste wrapped in chocoate for coating, and "KENJI KAWAGUCHI HOKKAIDO KASU SOKORA," a sponge cake with a soft, supple texture and a gentle sweetness.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of its founding, ICHIKU-DAIFUKUDO tied up with the "Tenka Sugar Ichi Project," a project to increase sugar consumption and improve the image of sugar, and developed "Sengoku Meikyoku no Okini Iri" using Hokkaido sugar, wheat flour, milk, and butter. The fluffy sponge cake is made into a rusk using Ichiku Daifukudo's unique technique, and decorated with kompeito sugar made from Hokkaido sugar.

Three flavors are available: plain, green tea, and chocolate. 350 yen per piece and 1,200 yen per box (3 pieces) will be available at all Ichiku Daifukudo stores from October 19.
