Two social issues "Career65" aims to solve
(1)Resolving labor shortage in companies
As the working-age population continues to decline due to the falling birthrate and aging population, companies are facing labor shortages. Career65" provides a way for companies to secure a sustainable workforce by utilizing experienced senior workers. In particular, hiring seniors with a stable work ethic will greatly help companies improve retention rates and reduce the burden of securing human resources.
(2) Resolving the Lack of Employment Opportunities for Senior Citizens
Although the population of the elderly is increasing year by year, approximately one in three (*1) of Japan's elderly population lacks a place to work even if they wanted to. This may be due to the lack of job opportunities and job services for the elderly. Career65" will create an environment where seniors can work actively in society again by providing a job service that makes the most of their abilities and motivation.
Features of the "Career65" service
(1) Senior-specific job site
Specializing in jobs for seniors aged 65 and over, the site employs a simple specification design that is easy to use for both companies and job seekers. A key feature of the site is that HR personnel can post jobs in as little as 30 minutes and begin recruiting quickly.
(2) Zero-risk job site for both job seekers and companies
Job seekers can use the site completely free of charge. Companies can use "Career65" with zero initial cost and a full performance-based fee (30,000 yen per hire). For companies, there are no costs incurred until a senior talent is hired, allowing them to take on the challenge of senior recruitment without risk.
Advantages of Senior Recruitment
Senior recruitment not only solves issues for companies, but also has many positive effects on society as a whole. Increasing the number of places where seniors can actively work will create the following social benefits.
(1) Securing a stable workforce and contributing to economic growth
Career65," to be released during Pension Week, will provide new employment opportunities for seniors who have reached pensionable age, helping them to secure a stable income and participate in society. This is expected to stabilize the working population, improve corporate productivity, and promote sustainable growth. In addition, senior citizens will actively work and participate in consumption activities, which will revitalize local economies and make a significant contribution to the economic growth of society as a whole.
(2) Reduction of medical and nursing care costs
If more seniors maintain their physical and mental health by working, the burden of medical and nursing care costs will be reduced, contributing to the sustainability of the social security system in the long run. Many studies have shown that employment contributes to extending the healthy life expectancy of the elderly, and this will lead to a reduction in the healthcare burden on society as a whole.
(3) Realization of a diverse and symbiotic society
The addition of the knowledge and experience of senior citizens to the workplace will create an environment in which multiple generations can work together, further deepening the diversity of society. Collaboration between younger generations and seniors will create new perspectives and values, leading to the revitalization of local communities and businesses.
(4) Creation of purpose in life and elimination of social isolation among the elderly
Having a connection with society through work makes it easier for the elderly to feel a sense of fulfillment and self-realization in life. This reduces the risk of social isolation and contributes to improved well-being and stronger communities. Seeing seniors contribute to their communities and companies through their own experiences will have a positive impact on other generations as well.
By promoting the hiring of seniors, a future will unfold in which not only companies, but society as a whole will benefit. Career65 is committed to building a bridge between seniors and companies in order to achieve this kind of sustainable society.
Background of "Career65" Development
The development of "Career65" is the result of the desire of the representative of Welfare & Human Resources, LLC. Coming from a background in the human resources industry, he realized through his grandfather's experience the importance of a sense of purpose in life that the elderly can gain through their work.
The representative's grandfather, after many years of work, began working at a new place because he wanted to "stay connected to society. However, he had to leave his workplace because of his age, and thereafter he tended to stay at home. As his physical and mental health gradually deteriorated and his dementia progressed, his grandfather's passion for his work inspired his strong desire to provide a place where he could continue to work regardless of his age.
Drawing on these experiences and the knowledge gained from working in the major human resources industry, the joint venture Welfare & Human Resources developed "Career 65. This service provides a place where the elderly can once again play an active role in society, while at the same time solving the problem of labor shortages in the corporate sector.
