Grand Marble Co. (Headquarters: 93 Kamitoba Kitashimada-cho, Minami-ku, Kyoto; Representative Director: Masanori Yamamoto), a Danish marble specialty store originating in Kyoto, will start selling "Ojifuku Set", a set for making your own powdered green tea, at "Cafe & Champagne Gion Chikara" on the 2nd floor of the main Grand Marble Gion store on Hanamikoji in Gion, in the fall of 2024. We started to sell "Ojifuku Set" for making matcha by yourself at "Cafe & Champagne Gion Chikara" on the 2nd floor of Grand Marble Gion main store in Gion.

Even first-timers can easily make their own matcha while watching a video lecture. The tea sweets are, of course, marble danishes. We hope you will enjoy the rich flavor and quality of matcha and the Kyoto-born marble Danish.

Experience making matcha while watching a video lecture

Matcha tea making experience may seem intimidating, but it is a great way to experience matcha. Café & Champagne Gion Chikara has launched a menu that allows even first-timers to easily experience matcha while watching a video lecture on a smartphone or tablet device.

The lecture video, which explains how to make and drink matcha, is available in four languages (Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean).

We recommend taking photos and videos of the matcha experience using the tea utensils (tea bowl, tea whisk, tea scoop, and jujube) provided by the cafe. It will surely become a memorable part of your trip to Kyoto.

The set includes a set of self-service tea sets using carefully selected matcha from "Gion Tsujiri". The marble Danish to be served together with the set includes your choice of one of about 12 varieties, including popular standard, limited-time, and Gion shop-only varieties.

No advance reservation is required. Enjoy a Japanese experience at this elegant Gion café on your way to sightseeing in Kyoto.

Located on the second floor of Grand Marble Gion, Café & Champagne Gion Chikara is a hideaway café where you can enjoy a space supervised by a world-renowned artist and a sophisticated menu.

The interior features a large bentwood counter, table seating, and a small tatami room, and artwork by creators is also on display. Located in a gorgeous location in Kyoto's representative flower district, it is a comfortable space with a relaxed Japanese atmosphere and artistic stimulation.

The menu features Grand Marble's signature "Marble Danish" and a selection of original sweets.
