Crowdfunding for inbound development of wellness tourism "Kawadate" from Yakushima Island! Crowdfunding for inbound development of wellness tourism "Kawadate" from Yakushima Island! ~Kawadate" is a new experience to remember the connection with nature by making powdered green tea in the river.
株式会社Transform Travel
Transform Travel Inc. (Location: Yakushima-cho, Kumage-gun, Kagoshima Prefecture; Representative Director: Yuka Sudo), a travel company that creates trips that change daily life, has launched a crowdfunding campaign on "CAMPFIRE" on Saturday, November 9 to support the inbound marketing of Kawadate, a tea ceremony experience that reminds people of their connection with nature by making matcha tea in the river water. The first service area is Japan, where the service will be available for the first time.
The first service area is Yakushima-cho, Kagoshima Prefecture, which is Japan's first World Natural Heritage site and a tourist destination visited by more than 200,000 tourists a year from all over the world.
While many tourists still tend to concentrate on specific tourist attractions such as the Jomon cedars, this time we focused on the island's rich river resources, which are so abundant that all of the island's rivers have been selected as one of the 100 best waters. We are releasing "KAWADATE" as an unprecedented tourism content, in which Yakushima matcha (powdered green tea) is served in the unexplored rivers of Yakushima, known only to the local people.
Ltd., a specialist in the tea ceremony that aims to create a gentle, conflict-free world and to bridge culture and industry rooted in the spirit of the tea ceremony, to supervise the content development.
Kawadotte will not only lead people to a state of mindfulness by using the tea ceremony form, but will also be developed nationwide as a wellness tourism content that reminds people of the connection between people and nature by reminding them of the blessings of nature, including the river's water.

Background of Crowdfunding
KAWADATE began with the idea of creating a tourism experience that would help people to remember their connection with nature, restore their physical and mental wholeness, and lead to a sustainable daily life in these days of climate change and other environmental problems.
Based on the concept of "remembering our connection with nature," Kawatodotsu is a new experience based on the Japanese culture of chanoyu (tea ceremony), which has grown up together with water, and is set in a river that is filled with water, which is essential for human life activities.
We are currently working on a beta version of the project, but we have decided to conduct crowdfunding this time in order to start full-scale development in cooperation with experts in the tea ceremony in preparation for next year's inbound activities.
Three features of KAWADATE
1* The stage is set in an unexplored river known only to local residents.
Yakushima is the most famous river island in Japan, with more than 140 rivers on the island, all of which have been selected as one of Japan's 100 best waters. While many tourists go to the mountains to see the Jomon cedars and other natural wonders, at KAWADOTSU you can visit rivers that are not listed in guidebooks, but are known only to local residents.
No.2* You can taste Yakushima's first Yakushima Matcha (powdered green tea).
At about the same time as the development of the river point, Hachimanju Tea Garden, a tea grower in Yakushima, took on the challenge of producing Yakushima's first ever matcha tea. A limited number of 100 cups of this very precious organic Yakushima matcha, which is still not for sale, can be tasted only at Kawaten.
3* Anyone can easily enjoy nature in between sightseeing tours.
While many of Yakushima's sightseeing activities, such as trekking, require more than half a day to complete, KAWADATE allows visitors to experience the nature of Yakushima in as little as 1.5 hours, making use of the free time on the first day or the time before boarding the plane on the last day. Since there is no need to carry heavy baggage for long hours, families with children and the elderly can also enjoy the tour.
