Asahi Fishery Cooperative Association (Location: 144-14 Onoe, Kohoku-cho, Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture) will hold the event "Early Winter Gourmet - Taste the Seasonal Fish" on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Asahi Fishery Hall in Nagahama, Shiga.

■You can enjoy seasonal fish caught in Lake Biwa in early winter!
Visitors can enjoy fish caught by fishermen, such as Biwa trout (the jewel of Lake Biwa), ayu (sweetfish), shrimps, and honmoroko (Japanese gizzard shad), as sashimi, boiled, tempura, or nanbanzuke (pickled in soy sauce and sugar). (The menu is subject to change depending on the type of fish caught.)
Junjun*1, a traditional Shiga dish, is served with popular eel. This is a very economical menu. (*1 Sukiyaki style hot pot dish)

Beverages include beer, sake, and non-alcoholic drinks (extra charge).

Note : Free shuttle bus service is available from JR Takatsuki Station.
(If you take the train from 11:01 Yoneda to 11:21 Takatsuki, we will pick you up at the venue.

■Optional tour
On the day of the tour, a cruise around Oku-Biwako by boat is available for those who wish.
Fishermen themselves will guide you to famous spots such as Chikubu Island and Katsuragome Ozaki, where there are ruins at the bottom of the lake.
Please note that this tour may not be held due to weather conditions.
