In addition to the training and awareness-raising activities for "service dogs" to help people with physical disabilities become independent and participate in society, the association is involved in various activities to connect people with dogs that did not become service dogs. These include the transfer of dogs to families with disabled children, visits to hospitals and other facilities (animal assistance activities), animal-assisted therapy, and the dispatch of "attendant dogs" to support children who have been abused or sexually assaulted when they speak at judicial proceedings, among other activities that meet the needs of each individual.
About 70 to 80% of the dogs go on to careers other than these service dogs, but there is no public assistance for their training. The support through Furusato tax payment will be used for all activities of the association, including the above-mentioned projects.

A service dog is a dog trained to help people with disabilities in their hands and feet. Just as a guide dog acts as the eyes of a blind person and alerts him or her to obstacles and turns, a service dog acts as the hands and feet of a person with a physical disability and assists him or her with daily activities.
The service dog performs a functional role by performing assisted movements and also provides emotional support to the user. We have received comments from users such as, "Living with a service dog has reduced my anxiety about going out alone," "My family can now go out without worry," and "My service dog looks happy every day, which makes life on the human side more enjoyable and exciting.
There are currently 60 pairs of service dogs active in Japan (as of the end of September 2024), but there are said to be about 15,000 potential service dog applicants nationwide, and there are still not enough of them.
About the cost of training service dogs
It costs approximately 2.5 to 3 million yen to graduate one pair of service dog and user.
It is necessary to pay for medical examinations and medical expenses from puppyhood, food and dog equipment, as well as transportation expenses to respond to prospective service dog owners throughout Japan. The cost of raising a service dog is approximately 5-7 million yen per year for veterinary care and 10 million yen per year for breeding, including costs for health management such as medical examinations, vaccinations, and treatment, kennel management, and transportation costs for training.
The service dogs are "loaned" to users free of charge, and more than 90% of the cost of fostering service dogs is covered by your donations.

"Living with a service dog has reduced the number of 'Sorry's’ and increased the number of 'Thank you's.'"
A dog given to a family through the With You Project brought smiles to the faces of the whole family.
With a DI dog(R), I am not afraid of surgeries and treatments.
With a companion dog, I can talk with him without anxiety.
We hope that as many people as possible who are suffering from difficulties will cooperate with our activities to bring smiles to their faces through dogs.
