More than 700 groups including street performance stars! New Year's Event in Saitama Shin-Toshin Saitama Shin-Toshin Street Performance Festival" to be held on January 11 and 12

Saitama Arena Co. (8 Shintoshin, Chuo-ku, Saitama City; President: Hirotsugu Mikami) will hold its annual New Year's event, the 20th Saitama Shintoshin Street Performance Festival, on January 11 and 12, 2025, in the JR Saitama Shintoshin Station area.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the festival as well as the 25th anniversary of the opening of Saitama Super Arena, and this event will be the first of its kind. The special website for this event features for the first time an interview with producer Takao Hashimoto, who has led this event for 20 times and has produced a number of outstanding street performers. In addition, we have created a page showing the 20-year history of the event, including flyers and photos of the venue from the first to the 19th events. This year's lineup of participating artists, which will exceed 700 groups for the 20th time, has been decided. 54 groups of "Heaven Artists(*)," including the "Chinese Acrobatic Troupe," which will appear for the 20th consecutive time since the first event, will perform at 13 locations around Saitama Shin-Toshin Station. In addition, there will be 6 "Fixed Points" where performances will be concentrated in the same location throughout the day, and 4 "Walking Acts" that will take visitors on a tour around the venue, which can also be enjoyed.

Haven Artists are artists who have passed a screening conducted by Tokyo Metropolitan Government experts and have been issued a license. Licensed artists are allowed to give musical performances at designated locations such as metropolitan parks and private facilities designated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government on the date and time reserved.

This year again, multiple artists will compete and perform at each point (with some exceptions) until 4:00 p.m., concurrently with the "Finale," which will conclude the festival in spectacular fashion. The program is designed to allow visitors to enjoy the world of the street performance festival at various locations until the end of the event.

This year's highlights include the "Finale," acrobatic performances by the "Chinese Acrobatic Art Troupe" and "Asterisk/NOVA," an aerial show by "Solampo Solan," and a world-class double-touch show by "'97. In addition, pantomime shows by "Mami Kano" and "Chiclino," and artists performing with musical instruments and singing, with nine groups named as performers, are also noteworthy.

The Saitama New Toshin Street Performance Festival will be the first of its kind in Japan in 2025, and this year, the 20th edition of the festival will once again be filled with warm applause and smiles as the powerful performances unfold before your very eyes.

Event Summary

A total of 54 groups of Tokyo Metropolitan Government-approved "Heaven Artists," including the "Chinese Acrobatic Troupe," will enliven Saitama New Toshin with their polished performances. In addition to the established points, there will also be fixed points where magic acts will be performed one after another, painting arts that take time to create a single work of art will be developed, and artists who move freely (walking acts) are scheduled to appear. The entire city of Saitama Shin-Toshin will be filled with street performances for two days, allowing visitors to fully enjoy themselves.
