Mega Solar Theft Prevention! Japan Shielding Giken's intimidation alarm system is implemented in society.
株式会社日本遮蔽技研
Japan Shielding Giken Co. (Location: Motomiya City, Fukushima Prefecture; President: Izumi Hirayama) has recently completed the installation of "Metus," a warning device that detects people and vehicles approaching a large-scale solar power plant (mega solar power plant) at night and automatically emits strong light and sound at the mega solar power plant in Fukushima Prefecture. Metus is a warning device that works in conjunction with our "VIGILA(R) Unmanned Alert System," a service that uses artificial intelligence (AI), and is manufactured by Toshihiro Endo, president of Toshin Denki Co. With a string of thefts of copper cables and other equipment at mega solar power plants across Japan, there is a strong demand for on-site threats and alarms to prevent theft, and we are aiming for social implementation of automatic alert services.
Metus is set to activate when the VIGILA(R) server detects a person or vehicle. It emits a flashing light from a light-emitting diode (LED), a siren with a loudness of up to 100 decibels, and a voice saying "Intrusion occurred, intrusion occurred. Currently, the system uses a 100-volt commercial power source, but a hybrid, stand-alone drive power source combining solar cells and a wind turbine generator is also under development.
