Background of the Mama Furisode Remake Service

Until now, the two most common ways to prepare furisode for coming-of-age ceremonies have been (1) to purchase new items and (2) to rent them. However, the price of new items was higher, while rental garments were mass-produced and cheaper, causing the problem of "many people wearing the same kimono at the same venue. This was a problem.

Therefore, Kimono Yamanaka offers a service in which "secondhand furisode" worn by mothers in the past are brought back to life in the modern age using the know-how gained over the 161 years since the company's founding.
