Seminar to Discuss Preservation of Japan's Forest Environment Japanese Who Have Lived with Forests" to be held in Ryogoku, Tokyo on Saturday, February 1 Organized by: Japanese Herb Association
一般社団法人和ハーブ協会
Japanese Herb Association will hold "Environmental Academy - Japanese who have lived with forests" at Ryogoku KFC Hall (Sumida-ku, Tokyo) on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
In order to inform as many people as possible about the current state of the forest environment in Japan, we will welcome as lecturers Mr. Masayuki Hayashi, a tree book author and environmental journalist, and Mr. Masaru Shiiba, the only person in Japan who has inherited the 5,000 year-old "burning field" method of cyclical primitive agriculture in Shiiba Village, Miyazaki Prefecture. Motoi Furuya, president of the Japanese Herb Association, will serve as navigator for the entire event.
We hope that many people will attend this lecture, as the forest environment is important to city dwellers, and although it is currently facing a critical phase, there are many issues that are not well known. The lecturer will share his experiences on how people and forests have been interacting with each other to preserve the natural environment, and the lecture will provide an opportunity to learn what is happening now and how we should interact with nature in the future.
For those who cannot make it to the venue on the day of the event, there will be an archived webcast available at a later date. The lectures will be held in four sessions, including this one, so that everyone can learn about Japan's mountain forest environment.
The lectures will be presented in an easy-to-understand manner for everyone, so please feel free to attend.
