Social Welfare Service Corporation Flat (Location: Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture; Chairman: Hiroyuki Nitta) will hold a digital art contest from February 1 (Saturday) to March 20 (Thursday), 2025. Teru Kawakita, Assistant Professor and active media artist and researcher, has been appointed as the head of the jury, and digital artworks including AI-generated images and 3DCG will be accepted from all over the world. In addition, a seminar on image-generated AI and media art by Kawakita will be held on Monday, March 3, and Monday, March 10, 2025, at Matsue Terrsa (Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture), supported by the Nippon Foundation.

About "The 1st Tsunagaru-Hirogal Art Link Contest"
The first digital art contest is held by the "Art ∞ Link Project," which aims to create a place for exchange among children and adults, the physically challenged and able-bodied, and people of all ages and genders, regardless of their position or environment, through activities that bring everyone into contact with art. The winning works will be made into merchandise and exhibited in the Metaverse, to make art a part of our daily lives.

About Teru Kawakita (Contest jury chief and lecturer)
Born in 1998, media artist and researcher. Using technologies such as generative AI and 3DCG, he creates works on themes such as Kansei, community, and nature. He is a graduate of the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), Department of Advanced Science and Technology, Creative Society Design Research Area. At the age of 25, he became an assistant professor at Matsuyama Shinonome Junior College and is also active as a researcher. His research focuses on Kansei Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), and Information Design. As a Certified Psychologist (Japan), he applies psychological principles to media art, creating works that explore the relationship between technology, nature, and human emotion. He has received more than 20 awards related to art and research and is highly regarded in a wide range of fields. His major solo exhibitions include "Teru Kawakita's Media Art Exhibition in MIYAKO.
