8.5 Million Questions and Answers Will Evolve AI-Human Dialogue OKWave and the Japan Information Technology Association and Japan Information Technology Association to start providing Q&A data for generative AI.
一般社団法人日本情報技術協会
Japan Information Technology Association (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Satoshi Masuda, President; hereinafter "JIPDEC"), a general incorporated association, has entered into a business alliance agreement with OKWAVE Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Hajime Sugiura; hereinafter "OKWave"), which provides community platforms such as the Q&A service "OKWAVE," with the goal of supporting the development of generative AI.
Japan Information Technology Association × OKWave
Background and Purpose of the Alliance
OKWave will start a new data provision business for generative AI in cooperation with the Japan Information Technology Association, based on the approximately 8.5 million human-inspired exchanges of concerns and questions accumulated in the "OKWAVE" Q&A service.
In this initiative, data previously classified into about 800 categories is reorganized into about 10,000 detailed segments based on international standards such as UNSPSC (United Nations Goods and Services Classification Code) and UNBIS (United Nations Thesaurus of Information Search Terms). The data is reconstructed into highly accurate Japanese data suitable for training and fine-tuning of generative AI.
In addition to the UN codes (UNSPSC, UNBIS, UNCCS) owned by the Japan Information Technology Association (JIETA), the system also works with a corpus of 100,000 colloquial Japanese translations that support multimodal models, enabling the maintenance and provision of high-quality Japanese data compliant with international standards.
By adopting the same code system as international companies such as SAP, ORACLE, Autodesk, IBM, and Amazon, we support the realization of natural and reliable interactive AI that prevents cross-cultural and multilingual misunderstandings in the development of AI agents and humanoids.
New Value Creation and Social Significance
This initiative is not limited to the mere utilization of data; it is about passing on to the next generation of AI the accumulation of knowledge from the interactions that occur when people teach and help each other.
By systematizing and revaluing the real Q&A exchanged on a daily basis in Japanese based on international standards, we will contribute to the evolution of generative AI, humanoids, and interactive systems, as well as lay the foundation for an information infrastructure that prevents misunderstandings among multiple languages and cultures.
■ Future Development
Through this alliance, OKWave will establish a new business model centered on Q&A data, and will fully develop its Japanese-language data provision business for cutting-edge fields such as generative AI, humanoids, and semiconductor design.
Going forward, OKWave will continue its efforts to achieve both knowledge circulation and technological innovation, so that the connections between people born from "all kinds of problems and questions" and their interactions will be passed on to the next generation of AI.
