Background

In recent years, the problem of vacant houses has become more serious, and the old condominiums adjacent to our office have become noticeably vacant and dilapidated, making it difficult to raise funds for maintenance and renovation costs. Therefore, we rented a vacant room and, utilizing our experience in the existing construction business, renovated the vacant room and revitalized it as a private accommodation.

■Facility Features

Concept

Under the concept of "a home-stay where you can travel with art" - a piece of memory that resonates in your heart, we aimed to create a space where you can feel the art and craftsmanship of Kagawa, an inn where you can stay as if you were living as a base for travel, and a place where you can feel the art and craftsmanship of Kagawa, taking advantage of its convenient location just 10 minutes from Takamatsu Station by car and in the area where the Setouchi International Art Festival will be held. The interior and artwork are designed to be a place where you can feel the art and craftsmanship of Kagawa.

Interior and art

The interior and artwork in the rooms feature works by local Kagawa artists, allowing guests to experience the charms of Kagawa close at hand while staying at the inn. Some of the artwork in the rooms can be purchased as souvenirs at ateliers and shops in Takamatsu City.

*A place for children to experience

A DIY workshop was held in the process of completing the private accommodation facility. Some of the walls were painted by children, providing a place for children to experience making things and working. We hope that visitors from outside the prefecture and overseas will feel the joy of being able to touch the things they have modified themselves.

Future Development

Renovated rooms will not only be used as accommodations to meet inbound demand, but also as our model rooms to draw out new renovation and rental needs. For owners of vacant houses and rental properties with similar problems, we will propose countermeasure plans using this project as a model case, and work to revitalize the community and solve local problems.
