Concept - An interactive "food theme park" packed with the charms of Hokuei-cho, Tottori
Located in the central part of the prefecture, Hokuei-cho is blessed with a mild climate and rich nature, and is a town of agriculture and tourism. With a view of the Sea of Japan to the north, the Hojo Sand Dunes and beautiful green pines, and the vast mountains of Daisen to the west, the town has connected people with nature. Agriculture is flourishing in the area, and the fertile black soil produces Daiei watermelon, vegetables, and flowers. The dune land produces a variety of attractive specialties such as long potatoes, rakkyo cucumbers, and grapes. Furthermore, the Hojo Road, scheduled to open in 2026, is located at the junction of the San-in Expressway and the Hojo Kurayoshi Road, making access from inside and outside the prefecture more convenient. Taking advantage of such convenient access, the roadside station aims to be a "roadside station" loved by many people, and to play a role as a center for creating and disseminating local attractions with a focus on "food.
The concept of the facility is "to bring smiles and energy to your faces with Hokuei-cho's abundant nature and delicious food.
The name "Michi-no-Eki Houjou" incorporates both the meanings of "Hojo" and "abundant harvest. As a hands-on "food theme park," we will offer not only food products that the central region of Tottori Prefecture is proud of, but also a variety of delicious foods from all over Tottori Prefecture and Japan.
The sales corner and restaurant will offer a wide variety of souvenirs and limited edition gourmet foods that make the most of local ingredients!
The facility is located on a vast site of approximately 100,000 m2 including a campground in the north area across the national highway, and is the only roadside station in the prefecture with an auto-camping facility. The south area, which will open this time, will have a sales corner, restaurants, and information dissemination facilities, as well as an indoor kids' corner with large playground equipment, a courtyard, and an outdoor lawn area, making it one of the largest hands-on "food theme parks" in the area that families from children to adults can enjoy together. The park will be one of the largest interactive "food theme parks" in the area.
