"TOZAI-KISSHOKAI", a group of 16 antiquarian book dealers from Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, will hold one of the largest exhibitions of antiquarian books in Japan at Tokyo Old book Hall (3-22 Kanda Ogawa-cho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) on April 19 (Sat) and 20 (Sun), 2025.

"TOZAI-KISSHOKAI" Poster

This exhibition, which brings together specialist dealers in Japanese and Chinese classic books from the East and West, will hold its first edition in 2023 with great success. In response to the requests from customers who have been waiting for the next exhibition, it will be held for the second time after a two-year absence. More than 4,000 classic books (Japanese books, Chinese books, old maps, ukiyoe woodblock prints, letters, documents, etc.) ranging from ancient calligraphy of the Nara period to materials from the Meiji period and Western books from overseas will be on display at the venue. In addition, many Japanese books and ukiyo-e prints related to Tsutaya Zyuzaburo and Yoshiwara will be on display, in connection with the historical drama "Belabo".
