Karumoa Co. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Takahiro Enomoto; hereafter, "Karumoa") will provide its "LIMOS" system for the demonstration experiment "Comfort Evaluation Value 'Eekimo Value'" of Kinden Corporation (hereafter, "Kinden") in support of the "Future Society Showcase Project" "Green Expo" at the 2025 Japan International Exposition (hereafter, "Expo '70 Osaka/Kansai). (hereafter "Kinden"), a sponsor of the "Future Society Showcase Project" and "Green Expo" (hereafter "Expo 2010"), will provide its fixed-point odor observation system LIMOS for the demonstration experiment "Comfort Evaluation Value "E-ekimo Value.

Kinden's Demonstration Experiment: Improvement of Visitor Satisfaction by Providing Information on Comfort Evaluation Values "EKIMO Value
Kinden defines "Eekimo value" as a comfort evaluation value calculated based on data obtained from AI analysis of visitor behavior, gestures, ambient noise, etc., as well as temperature and humidity data at the Osaka/Kansai Expo site, and visitor conditions using sensors. This evaluation value will be used to control air conditioning equipment, etc., and the distribution of the "E-kimo value" will be mapped on a map of the venue to visualize it, and a demonstration experiment will be conducted to provide visitors with spatial information that will make them "feel good" and improve their satisfaction.
Karumoa will also contribute to the realization of the SDGs and Society 5.0 through the "smell value" by providing LIMOS, a fixed-point odor observation system for the smell sensor, which is one of the data to be collected.

What is "LIMOS," a fixed-point odor observation system?
In the 1960s, Japanese industry grew rapidly in the wave of rapid economic growth, but at the same time, it was plagued by odor complaint problems. The Law for the Prevention of Malodorous Odors, which came into effect in 1971, set odor emission limits (odor index limits) for factories and other business establishments, and the method used to measure these limits was the olfactory method using the human sense of smell.
However, the measurement method using the human sense of smell is time-consuming and costly, making it unsuitable for the constant monitoring of odors.
Therefore, Karumoa, with over 30 years of experience and know-how in the odor-related business since its establishment, has developed a fixed-point odor monitoring system, LIMOS.
By installing LIMOS in spaces where odors are a concern, or at downwind angles on outdoor property boundaries, odor emissions can be quantified in real time. The measured data is sent to the server via wireless or mobile communication. The cloud version allows users to check measurement data via web browsers, etc., and also provides 4-20 mA analog output and API linkage.
