Michi no Eki Hojo" (operated by Takahito Kawagoe, President of Hoshitolink Co., Ltd.), which has been developed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the town of Hokuei, will hold its grand opening at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025. From the same day, a variety of original souvenirs and gourmet foods will be available, taking advantage of local products such as locally grown vegetables and fruits delivered from contract farmers, crabs, and "Nebarikko" dune long bean.

An interactive "food theme park" packed with the charms of Hokuei-cho, Tottori
The concept of the facility is "to bring smiles and energy to your faces with the abundant nature and delicacies of Hokuei-cho.
The area surrounding Hokuei-cho is blessed with fertile black earth brought by Mt. Daisen, and a wide variety of agricultural products such as Daiei watermelon, one of the leading production areas in western Japan, vegetables, fruits, and flowers are grown in this fertile land. In addition, the dune land produces a variety of attractive specialties such as long potatoes, rakkyo (Japanese cucumber), and grapes, making this area a veritable "treasure house of food ingredients.
The "Michi no Eki Hojo" (Roadside Station) was established in such a rich area. Named after the place name "Hojo," which means "abundant harvest," this roadside station is a hands-on "food theme park" that features a variety of delicious foods from all over the prefecture and the nation, including Hokuei-cho's prized foodstuffs.
In the northern area of the facility, there is an auto-camping site with a spectacular view of the Hojo Sand Dunes and the Sea of Japan. In the south area, which will be newly opened, there will be a sales area with a variety of products, including vegetables and fruits delivered by contract farmers, livestock products, marine products, various processed products, and souvenirs, as well as handmade prepared foods and boxed lunches. Many original souvenirs using local specialties such as crab and "Nebarikko" dune long bean will also be available. The restaurant, which seats approximately 100 people both inside and on the terrace, offers a variety of unique gourmet dishes that can only be enjoyed here, mainly using crabs and "Nebarikko" dune long potatoes.

The "Dune Megumi Nebarikko Shokudo" offers a menu that can only be tasted here, making the most of the local specialty "Nebarikko" dune yam and crab, "Sunadori Sweets" offers sweets using "Nebarikko" dune yam and "Shirobara Milk" which has many fans, and a curry with a deep taste and spice flavor. The "Toritori Bakery" offers unique curry bread that is a cross between curry with a deep spice flavor and various gourmet foods.
