The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center have been implementing the "Tokyo Teshigoto  project" since fiscal year 2007 to support the development of new traditional crafts and the cultivation of new markets in Japan and abroad, which are in demand by modern consumers.

We are pleased to announce that a product presentation will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, to unveil for the first time the new products developed through collaboration between traditional craftspeople and designers. In addition, the Tokyo Governor's Award, which will be presented to three particularly outstanding products, will be announced and a ceremony to award certificates will be held at the same time.

This will be an excellent opportunity to see a variety of products that highlight handcraftsmanship. We look forward to seeing you there.

What is Tokyo Handicraft?

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion Agency have been promoting the "Tokyo Handicrafts" project since fiscal year 2024, with the aim of creating new products of traditional crafts that are sought by modern consumers and opening up new markets both domestically and internationally.
