The Old Grey Brewery
The Old Grey Brewery, a craft brewery in Shiraoi-cho, Hokkaido, whose vision is "a brewery that creates new landscapes," will begin selling canned products on April 26, 2025.
The Old Grey Brewery aims to create not just a brewery, but a place where culture, community, and art intersect, creating new connections and an ecosystem in the region. By combining the nature and history of Shiraoi with the creativity of local residents and artists, we will deliver beer that enriches everyone involved.

Brewery x Art: Giving back to society as a project that creates new landscapes
The Old Grey Brewery has had the vision of "a brewery that creates new landscapes" since its establishment, and views craft beer not as a mere beverage, but as a medium that connects communities and culture.
The "brew gallery," an art gallery attached to the brewery, exhibits contemporary art and accepts artists-in-residence, and focuses on the transmission of art rooted in the context of Shiraoi.
The can designs for the cans to be sold this time include regular cans and art design cans. As an extension of our cultural activities, we would like to work with artists to provide a new time for the future of the community through beer.
The art design cans feature the works of artists both in Hokkaido and abroad who are associated with Shiraoi Town. The price of the art design can is 30 yen higher than the regular price. The difference will be used to fund social activities (cultural, artistic, environmental, etc.) for the future of Shiraoi Town.
The Old Grey Brewery follows the following brewing policy
Gentle carbonation through natural carbonation
Use Hokkaido and local ingredients as much as possible.
Use of local ent tea, which the Ainu people loved to drink.
Establishment of a recycling-oriented eco-system, including the reuse of by-products and residues
