According to a survey conducted by NTT Data Management Research Institute Corporation (*1), more people want to "stay healthy forever" than "live forever," suggesting that people are becoming even more health-conscious in this age of 100-year life. Against this backdrop, new fasting methods that are easy on the body, such as "16-hour fasting," which allows 16 hours between meals, and "fasting bars," which supplement nutritional deficiencies during fasting, are attracting attention. While methods that are easy for individuals to undertake are spreading, there are risks associated with self-practice. For example, extreme fasting may cause the body to break down muscle mass to compensate for the lack of energy. Also, if you eat a high-calorie, high-fat diet after fasting is over, the fat is easily absorbed and stored as fat, possibly causing a rebound.
The fasting program at iWellness consists of "fasting" during the first half of your stay, "recovery meal" during the second half, and a "reward meal" on the morning of the last day as a reward for your hard work. During the fasting period, no solid food is consumed, and yeast juice and other calorie-free and caffeine-free drinks are slowly consumed over time. After fasting, the body is slowly acclimated to a normal diet, starting with low-calorie meals that are easy on the digestive system and gradually increasing in calories. Then, on the final morning, the program ends with a "reward meal" that is gentle on the mind and body.
In this summer menu, we have renewed some of the recovery meals for the second half of the fasting program to incorporate seasonal ingredients. You can choose from Japanese or Western-style meals, and both menus use Izu's famous "kinmedai" (sea bream). Dietary adjustments, which are difficult with self-directed fasting, can be made according to a specialized program, allowing for an effective reset while minimizing the burden on the body. Finish your fasting with seasonal flavors in a delicious and safe way - please experience the fasting program at iWellness Izu Kogen.

<Introduction to Fasting Courses
We offer two different fasting courses to meet your needs: a full-fledged fasting course and a petit fasting course that begins on the first day of your stay and includes a low-calorie supplemental meal (recovery meal).
■Fasting Course
This is a fasting course in which half of your stay is spent fasting with water only.
After completing the fasting period, you will take supplementary (recovery) meals for the same period of time as the fasting period. The "recovery meal" is a meal to make up for any deficiencies in nutrients or ingredients.
■Petit-Fasting Course
This is a course in which supplemental (recovery) meals are taken from the first day of your stay.
Starting with a small amount of food on the first day, the amount of supplemental (recovery) food is gradually increased.
The nutritional and caloric content of the meals are carefully calculated, allowing you to experience fasting with less stress on your body.
